ARKH - Asylum Seekers & Refugees in Kingston upon Hull

ARKH supports refugees and asylum seekers in Hull through a number of activities, including an advice drop-in service, English classes, a football team, befriending, and events.

BAfR - Bradford Action for Refugees

Bradford Action for Refugees (BAfR) is a voluntary organisation which works to support refugees and asylum seekers in Bradford.

Cultures United in Kirklees (CUK)

A centre which is shared by people from small ethnic communities. It also acts an information point for people from those communities.

LASSN - Leeds Asylum Seekers Support Network

A charity aiming to make a positive contribution to the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in Leeds; LASSN’s services include one-to-one befriending, one-to-one English at home tuition, support to Refugee Community Organisations and Short Stop volunteer hosting to support destitute asylum seekers and refugees.

MAAN - the Somali Mental Health Project

MAAN is the first point of contact and a bridge for the Somali community in Sheffield into the mental health services. It also helps service providers to deliver culturally sensitive services. They have an open door policy for information and signposting and support many people from outside the Somali community as well.

MARCO - Migrant Asylum Refugee community organisation

MARCO provides practical assistance to enable Migrants, Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Barnsley to integrate into the community. It also works with agencies to address issues affecting Migrants, Asylum Seekers and Refugees in Barnsley.

MARCO meets in the Summer Lane Community Centre on Wednesdays and Fridays.

NRC - Northern Refugee Centre

RASA - Advocacy Project

RASA is a Wakefield based advocacy project specifically aimed at refugees and asylum seekers.

RAY - Refugee Action York

RAY supports refugees, asylum seekers and migrants chiefly through the provision of a Sunday drop-in offering support, signposting and information as well as English conversation for adults and mother tongue classes for children from Turkish speaking families.

RETAS - Refugee Education & Training Advisory Service

RETAS, a charity based in Leeds, aims to provide information, advice and support to help refugees and asylum seekers overcome difficulties in accessing education, training and employment.

RNAP - Refugee New Arrivals Project - now merged with NRC

The Refugee New Arrivals Project and NRC officially merged on 1 March 2010. This has resulted in the formation of the new ‘NRC Employment and Education Service’. The service helps refugees and asylum seekers to access employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities. It also organise some activities specifically for refugees from professional backgrounds to help them prepare for employment in the UK.

SAVTE - Sheffield Association for the Voluntary Teaching of English

SAVTE is a project which recruits and trains volunteers to teach English as an additional language to the most excluded members of our society.

SOLACE

Solace is a charity which provides free counselling, psychotherapy and advocacy in the Yorkshire and Humber region to the survivors of persecution and exile, many of whom have been traumatised by torture, rape, the death or disappearance of loved ones and often combinations of all of these and other atrocities.

The Centre is a church-based voluntary organisation, which provides a range of activities and resources, including child-care, adult education, community support, advice and guidance. We value and respect all members of the community as individuals and we are open to all.
