Welcome to Jantela

Jantela is Amharic (one of the Ethiopian languages) and means ‘umbrella’.

Jantela aims to improve the lives of refugees and asylum seekers in Yorkshire and Humberside by supporting organisations, groups and agencies that work with them. Jantela is an infrastructure or support service organisation.

·         Work together to promote issues and challenges injustices faced by refugee and asylum seekers

·         Work with refugee community organisations to enable them to support their members

·         Ensure decision makers and service providers consult with refugees and asylum seekers in a meaningful way
